1999: We announce our cooperation with TERNA SA, broadening our horizons and areas of activity in infrastructure works and power generation projects With the investor community’s support we raise new funds, which secure liquidity for future investments in the field of self-financed projects
2000: We expand our activities in the field of real estate development through our participation in the share capital of HERMES REAL ESTATE SA and KEKROPS SA two of the oldest companies in the history of real estate management, with significant real estate property and potential development
2002: The transformation of GEK into a holding company is announced, and its construction sector is transferred to TERNA.
2004: GEK merged with HERMES S.A. The new corporate entity enjoys strong capital base (Group’s own capital exceeds € 330 million in a consolidated basis), increased flexibility, numerous synergies and enhanced cash position. The real estate activity is boosted, whilst the Group continues to invest in Energy and Concessions.
2008: GEK merged with TERNA. The combined entity (GEK TERNA) is strengthened, allowing the Group to enjoy strong cash flows and own capital now reaches € 724 million
